latest work

Hello year 13

This is a reminder of the work for the week beginning October 12th. On Thursay I set the essay title "Compare and contrast the representations of men in "Nottinghill" and "Trainspotting". How do you account for the similarities and differences?" On Friday you were supposed to write it in class but there were several absences and distractions so you need to finish the essay at home. Please try to do so and hand it in by the end of this week or post it on your blog if you would prefer. If it is on your blog it needs to be posted by November 2nd to give me time to respond.

In the meantime work efficiently over half term but also find time to take a break!

October 1st-9th lessons

This is a quick reminder of our recent lessons on Trainspotting in case you have missed anything.

October 1st and 2nd.

We completed the close textual analysis of the opening and closing scenes of "Trainspotting". You should have notes from both these lessons.

Home learning. By Oct 2nd you should have completed the analysis of another scene from the film of your choice. You should also have completed your ANGRILI analysis of the film.

October 8th and 9th.

There was no taught lesson on Oct 8th because of the Learn to Live trip. However your work for that lesson was to fill in the sheets on representation of Renton, Begbie and Spud. This work continued on Oct 9th.

Home-leaning. Finish notes on all three characters with examples from the film. This must be done by Thursday Oct 15th.

24.09.09 lesson and home learning

Hello Year 13 students.

I have finally got round to creating a blog for critical perspectives. In today's lesson (Sam!) we started a close textual analysis of the opening sequence of "Trainspotting". We will complete this analysis in next Thursday's lesson.

Your home learning is to select another extract from the film and write your own analysis of that sequence. You need to analyse the use of camerawork, editing, sound and mise-en-scene and discuss how these are used to create representations of men.
Remember this is exactly what you were doing in TV drama last year so you are using the same skills.

This work should be completed by Thursday 1.10.09
